The Manhattan Department of Fire Services (MFD) provides a wide range of services to citizens of Manhattan. Programs administered by the department are divided into two categories - Emergency Services and Technical Services.
About the Code Services Division
Code Services is a division of MFD. Contact Code Services if you have questions about contractor or trade licenses, building permits, new construction plan review and inspections, housing inspections, and nuisance (tall grass, trash, couches on porch, etc.) inspections.

Fire Hydrant Maintenance
The Manhattan Fire Department started its annual fire hydrant maintenance program today, Monday, May 20. Crews will flow and paint fire hydrants throughout the City until late fall.
